Art Appreciation

Each year Art-Appreciation parent volunteers present a carefully chosen portfolio of art reproductions to the Lumberton School District. This spring parents will spend a full art class, at each school, talking with the children about art.

Art-Appreciation believes that art is an integral part of life and can reflect and guide life itself. Art can be considered one of the most interdisciplinary studies available to the academic world. By studying the art of a past or present culture, one is able to better understand and appreciate society at that time. During the visits we encourage students to perceive and respond to various forms and aspects of art in an enjoyable manner.

The primary purpose of the program is to stimulate young children in art from all schools and historical periods.

Thank you to all the volunteers who will be presenting this wonderful program.
